The B-patch has been out for a little over a day and while the meta has certainly shifted, the sentiment is that the general approach to the patch is the same. Reroll continues to be dominant with the nerfed augments/comps being worse while others gain in its absence.

Here's what we have observed so far:

Similarities:
- Ahri is still the best performing comp in the data

- Ryze is still the best 4 cost in the game, primarily played in Portal (need an emblem)

- Kalista still caps very high and can win-out but needs a ton of resources (Fortune)

Differences:

- Kogmaw and Tristana are back in S on top of the meta as the other main 2 cost reroll

- Nilah Warriors is now prioritizing Katarina and 4-costs Fiora/Gwen, but much less consistent

- 5 Pyro is much weaker making it a less than desirable chase trait unless playing Pyro Smolder

- 4 Vanguard nerfs hurt several compositions such as Hwei Blasters, Mages, and Syndra (but does anyone really miss her?)

- Molten Caramel is now a decent comp if you have the opener, but nothing to write home about

- Instead of High Horsepower Lillia, Witchy Wallop Poppy is now the best Hero Augment in the game

- Arcana is now the ideal way to cap Ryze flex in the late game with Nami. Together they can snipe backline units quickly and destroy reroll carries

In addition to the above, the most common comps you will encounter on ladder are Spider Queen Elise, Wukong Jinx, Frost, and Veigar. The niche comps like Karma or Kassadin are not completely unplayable, but the spots for these comps are much rarer.

One of the biggest skills this patch is understanding which augments are pickable and which ones to avoid. At the highest level of play, there is a stark contrast to having a good augment that empowers your comp versus one that doesn't do much. To be even more precise, it's crucial to avoid picking game-losing or bad augments or putting yourself on a weak line.

This patch shows an enormous gap between augments ranging from 3.8 all the way to 5.5 at Gold tier. While raw AVP is often fake or improperly used to interpret augment power levels, the bird's eye view of placement ranges show the augment ecosystem is generally unhealthy.

So what can we do in spots like these? This is where learning how to filter data on a stats website to investigate augment selection further can be key to success.

If you want to use a free option, we recommend the TacticsTools or MetaTFT explorer. Simply attach 3 constant factors in your composition and click "Augments" on the lower menu. Here is an example with Kogmaw + Tristana + Jinx:

Compare the stats of the augment to the overall performance of the comp. We want things that are around 4.1-4.2 range or better. In these screenshots, notice how Pumping Up II is actually good for the comp, despite the stats saying its quite poor overall.

This is one of many ways to get edge in the meta using data and stats as your ally. Choose your augments very wisely for the best path to success.

We do want to emphasize however that there are still fundamentals of TFT that exist. Avoid brainlessly picking an augment if your spot isn't good for it such as clicking Support Golem when you are playing Exiles (due to many support items needing adjacent allies). It doesn't matter if you have something "broken" in the data like Upgraded Adventure for Bastion Ahri if you are 3 way contested.

One of the benefits of a reroll meta is that it naturally makes niche reroll comps better as well due to the thinning of the bag size. A reroll comp that has started gaining attention is Ashe & Jax Multistrikers. Jax performs surprisingly well in the mid game and if you can stall out to the top end of Camille 2 with Arcana, you can land a top finish.

Another niche comp due to the popularity of the aforementioned Upgraded Adventure is Dragon Shapeshifter reroll. It's an alternative way to 1-cost reroll and chase 3* Nomsy, Jayce, Eise, and Twitch/Shyvana for the reward. Afterwards, push levels using Shapeshifters and aim for 3 Dragon since Nomsy falls off hard without Smolder.

That's all for today! Good luck out there and may the augment odds be ever in your favor.
